We want to extend a sincere thank you to Ritchie Community League for partnering with the Edmonton Skateboarding Association and hosting RCL Skate Lessons this winter.

Thanks to this collaboration, we’ve been able to run weekly beginner skate lessons for ages 6–16 on Saturday mornings — with 3 sessions from January 17 through April 18. Each session runs 10:00 am–11:30 am and costs just $5 per person (with a community league membership), keeping it accessible while giving young skaters a welcome space to learn and grow on their boards.

We’re also excited about RCL’s interest in a “Tired Skate Night” (30+). A session aimed at more casual, low-stress skating that’s perfect for folks who want to laid back session. Details on dates and fees are still being finalized, but we’re pumped about it.

Looking ahead, we’re in early conversations about hosting summer outdoor skate lessons and skateboarding community gatherings at RCL. Programming and events where skaters of all skills, ages, and genders can connect and hang out.

A special thank you to Carly and Jil for helping make all of this happen. Your support and coordination have been key.

This has been an awesome opportunity, and we’re excited to keep building with Ritchie Community League for the foreseeable future.
